George Cruikshank
My Great Grandad, George Cruickshank was a sergeant in the RAF at Lossimouth. He repaired the planes after they came back from battle. Before the war he was a painter and he also had to repaint the planes. He was always at the airfield and had to sleep in terrible beds. His job was very important because if he made a mistake he could be responsible for the death of other people. He did not believe in war because he thought it was a waste of human life.
RAF Cap Badge
This is his RAF Cap Badge. Everyone in the RAF got one. It was worn on their cap. Everyone wore their badge with lots of pride because only certain people got into the RAF. |
